Wow. We lost a true legend today. For ME, Guru was a huge inspiration. One of my top 5 and the type of poet and MC that hip hop is missing right now. I hate putting down anything that people like but hip-hop is full of a lot of garbage right now. I know a lot of you say "Hip hop isn't dead" etc. etc. but it is to the masses. When I was in High school Gangstarr had videos on TV. Bet, MTV, the Box etc. played Gangstarr videos. Now, nothing even close to what Guru and Gangstarr did is on TV. It's all crack talk, half naked women and murder and money. Yeah, it's reality but it's not showing us anything else than what we already know. I don't believe music is purely for entertainment.Maybe I'm lame, a nerd, a preacher or crazy but I think music is also made to help people move along, help artist get out a message and it's made to try something new that even if it was done before, it wasn't done by you.

man homie this music was my shit! i was trying to download it a couple weeks ago cuz I lost my copy, but it wasn't letting me. definitely going to be listening this week.

This came out of nowhere for me at least. I got your Community Service mixtape way back and then you resent it to me not that long ago. He really was a credit to the music and I wonder if anybody will be able to fill his shoes. Pac, Biggie, Guru - all people with something to the lyrics gone. And we still have Flava Flav? WTF?!
