ISEEITALL: "We Gonna Fly" video shoot Day 1 9.26.08

So I shot this video for "We Gonna Fly"

with my homies from Klip Art Studio back in September and I started the blog but hadn't finished it until now .... (Part 2 coming soon!)

Wow .... What a day.

This is how shooting for this video went ...................

Friday at around 7pm I took a nap before I went in to work that night. I woke up around 9:30 pm, stumbled outta bed,brushed my teeth and hopped in my car. I was tired ....

I worked from 10pm until 5:20 am this morning. When I left work I knew that shooting would start at 9am. I got home, sent out a couple emails, ate a sandwhich, a fruit salad and jumped in the shower. I was excited and extremely tired at the same time.
At around 8:00 am I head outto drop the car off to my wife at her mother's house.
I chilled with my kids and wife till about 9:30 am when my homegirl Jeng (Klipartstudios.com) picks me up to meet the crew and get started with shooting. It's about 10:00 am and we're at Kimball and Lawerence at the Brown Line station. There we meet my homie Rok (Klipartstudios.com), Jerry and Laurence. Laurence stays behind with the rest of the equipment while Roc, Jeng, Jerry and myself hit the train for out first shot. In case you guys didn't know the CTA charges $5,000 to shoot ANYWHERE on CTA property no matter how short of time you will be shooting . We only needed to shoot for about 20 minutes and we'll end up using a few seconds of it for the video and no one was going to put up $5,000 to shoot anything !

So .... We did it Guerrilla style ! And I must say it came out freshhhhhhh ....

Next we head out to ... where we meet up my homie Intel. He's an ill Cinematographer that the Klipart crew has worked with several times in the past.

Waiting ... I did a lot of it but it was worth it!

Here we shot some footage of me in an underpass. If you've ever seen any NFL footage where they show the team going through the tunnels onto the field, this is what the shot looks like !

Around 1:00 pm we head over to Subway to get some much needed lunch.

Around 2:00 pm we go to a spot about 2 miles away from ... with a bunch of Soccer fields and right in the middle is a huge hill. That's our next shot. At this point I'm exhausted.

I still haven't slept since about 7:00 pm almost 24 hours ago. I laid down on a blanket with the sun beaming on me .... I was asleep for a total of 10 minutes (if that) when I wake up to a bunch of kids heading up the hill. My rest is done and it's time to get the next shot going. Luckily I wasn't in this shot so I could take it a little easy. We had about 5 or 6 kids there with their parents. The frist shot was of the parents holding up signs the read "FREEDOM" in English, Spanish, Greek, South African, Arabic, Chinese and German. It was a still, no action. They took shots from different angles and had everyone move around to different positions. It came out good.

THEN .... It was time for the kids !!!

They were all excited to be in the video ...

but not as much as I was !!! LOL

This is the WTF ??? Moment of the shoot .

Then ....

Homie with the Ice Cream came through and we had to take this time to sit on the bike ! HE wasn't 100% official because he was selling American Ice Cream but ya'll know how official the Paleta man is ! we had to show him some love

Did I mention that the homie Flat Stanley was there ? You don't know who Flat Stanley is ???
