"3" LIST # 1 - 3 songs that made me say ...

Here you go people; it's the first installment of my bi-weekly "3" list.

These are 3 songs that made me say "I GOTTA RAP" ... For the Krs One , it was not only this song but specifically this video that I watched in my parents basement with my brother at least once a day for a couple years ... NO LIE ! This song and video stuck to me in a major way. Krs is the first rapper that made want to grab a pen and grab a mic....

Nas ... He came with some whole other shit! At the time a lot of lyrical shit was out and a lot of grimy shit was out. Nas was more lyrical than most and he came with a lot of street sense but it wasn't too much like these cats over-do now. He was smooth, lyrical, and grimy and had ill beats! "The World is yours" stuck to me because the beat was one of my favorites on Illmatic and the Nas just kills it!

Common ... Come on man! Not only is this dude from Chicago but he came with a classic on this track ... He was also the first Chicago rapper that came out and made me feel like what he was on was something that I was on myself. I could relate to the dude. I mean, I'm Chicago born and raised an d love Crucial Conflict, Psycho Drama and the other talent we had at the time but Common was the complete opposite of most of them cats and I loved it.
